![]() ![]() I’ve always thought cashew butter tastes like straight up cookie dough and cake batter combined. *Grill up one of these dishes for dad this weekend before the milkshake dessert –> Grilled BBQ Short Ribs or Rosemary Garlic Flank Steak with Blackberry Sauce* The maple pecan chocolate chip cookies immediately reminded me of my dad and his beloved butter pecan and I knew blended with some vanilla ice cream and cashew butter they’d make a creamy, decadent treat not only any dad would like on his special day but anyone, gluten-free or not, would be down for sipping this summer. When I saw Udi’s had new soft baked cookies (the best!) in their product line up, I knew some kind of summer treat had to go down with them. Such a weird flavor to be attached to in my opinion when novelties like cookie dough, fudge swirls, peanut butter, caramel and all the other (better than butter pecan) options exist but hey, to each their own I guess. My dad is a butter pecan ice cream guy through and through. *This chocolate chip cookie milkshake recipe is sponsored by partner, Udi’s Gluten Free. With Father’s Day right around the corner and the hot weather finally making an appearance in New York, I figured it was time for another one. They’re never my go-to order at a ice cream place and I kind of forget they exist (much like floats) but when I recently re-made this roasted strawberry basil milkshake, I was reminded of their creamy goodness and perfection in the world of ice cream treats. Milkshakes aren’t something I think about a lot. This chocolate chip cookie milkshake is made with maple pecan gluten-free cookies, coconut milk and cashew butter for a creamy cookie dough tasting treat! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() Here, the designers or those in charge of the project discuss the system requirements and specifications. The project only moves to the next phase if these questions and other requirements get adequate answers. This phase includes knowing the number of countries that might use the application, finding out if there's a requirement to build an application that supports several languages and the estimated number of users. Since we intend to build software that schools can use for their administration, we start by gathering the necessary information. Clarifications on the requirements are also crucial at this stage. After this, the developers note down the discussion result in a requirements document. Business analysts collect this information and discuss them with a team or client. This phase entails gathering all the requirements necessary to build the project. Here, we shall discuss the phases of the model using a school administration software creation and implementation as an example: Requirement gathering phase Note that it's essential to complete each step before moving to the next. The waterfall model divides all projects into distinct phases and none overlap. Related: What are the different testing types that analysts use? Phases of the waterfall model After a while, they developed other software development models like Agile. ![]() It's also the first model used to develop software. Organisations and software development companies use this model to create various digital products. It starts from the upper part and moves downward, touching one stone before the next. Its inventor derived the name from the sequential way water cascades down rocks and stones in a waterfall. It's a straightforward model that ensures project completion in a specified time. This means a specific number of steps in the waterfall model correspond to the project's needs.Įach phase has its objectives and one can't move to the next without completing the previous one. Developers divide the project into phases and outline the goals of each stage. The model uses a sequential system that ensures that a developer completes a phase of the development process before moving to another. Winston Royce created the waterfall model in the 1960s to simplify the software development process. Sometimes, the developers abandoned the software or digital product before completion because of a lack of a simplified approach. In the past, software development took years and several trials before reaching clients or end-users. ![]() Related: Software engineering vs computer science: the differences you need to know A brief history of the waterfall model Doing this prevents overlapping phases and makes the process easy to understand and use. It states that a new phase in the development process only begins after completing the previous stage. What is a waterfall model?Ī waterfall model is an approach used for software development. In this article, we discuss 'What is a waterfall model?', detailing the history, phases and implementation, requirements, merits and demerits. Developers and project managers can learn to employ the waterfall model to have maximum control of their project and ensure its completion. Most times, it involves an interplay of human and non-human resources that are uncontrollable. Software development and project management is a demanding and time-consuming process. ![]() ![]() ![]() For example, you can send a MIDI synth line to GSnap on your vocals, and it will automatically ‘tune’ the vocals to the synth. In addition to standard autotune-like effects, this plugin has the unique ability to snap pitch to any MIDI signal being fed to it. GSnap was the first free autotune plugin available. Other Voloco features include locking to a major/minor scale and and a sort of wet/dry control to change the amount of effected signal. Voloco is designed specifically for the over-the-top Cher/T-Pain sound it’s a creative tool more than a fine pitch corrector. For example, the Daft Punk and 8-bit modes add LFO volume modulation and gate-like effects to your vocals. Unlike some the other freebies on the list, Voloco adds more than just pitch correction to the signal. Voloco by Resonant Cavity is one of the best free autotune plugins for creative effects. Its presets include 8-bit and Daft Punk-style vocals, plus many others that will add a unique and artificial timbre to your productions. MAutoPitch is another great free autotune plugin with options like depth, detune, and speed, which are standard on most pitch correction software.ĭepth controls how much effect the VST has on the sound, sort of like a wet/dry knob. Plus, you can use the integrated keyboard to lock autotune into a scale for more accurate pitch correction. From there, you can use the Smooth function to control the retune speed (which controls how fast the pitch corrects itself faster settings = robotic voice). The full, paid version obviously has more features, but the ‘freemium’ Graillon 2 provides pitch shifting and correction-the two most important elements of autotune.Īll you have to do is load the plugin and turn on the Enable Correction knob. Graillon is the most popular free autotune plugin. Luckily there are some decent free alternatives for real-time pitch correction out there. That being said, it’s an expensive plugin, especially if you’re just starting out or just want to experiment with its sound a little bit. If you want the most authentic autotune sound, it’s a good idea to stick with Antares. Travis Scott, Future, Playboi Carti, and many use it as the main effect to shape their vocals. Today, the autotune sound is all over the place in modern rap. ![]() At a super short retune speed, the pitch correction becomes unnatural sounding, but it’s a desired effect which has inspired a whole style of vocal production and become a hallmark of modern genres like trap.Īfter Cher in the late 2000s, T-Pain popularized the effect even further, with other prominent artists like Lil Wayne and Kanye West catching on. The 1998 song “Believe” by Cher gets the credit for showcasing the “0 retune speed” robotic effect. From its very introduction, engineers and producers started experimenting with the technology. ![]() |
